Regular Meeting minutes November 2008
The MCWA Meeting was called to order at 7:44 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 (election day) at the Woodstock Free Methodist Church, 934 N. Seminary Ave.(Route 47), Woodstock, IL 60098 by the President N7US Jim. The attendees introduced themselves giving their name, callsign and in some case their city, with 24 people in attendance.
Secretary's Report: The secretary was not in attendance. W9MLP made a motion to accept the minutes from the last meeting as published on the club website. It was seconded by KB9I. The motion carried.
Treasurer's Report: W9MLP Marty explained N9TZL Dennis turned the club account over to him on 10/24/2008 with a balance of $2369.04 . 10/29/2008 deposit of $100 in dues, balance $2469.04 plus 10/31/2008 interest $2.15 for a final balance of $2471.19.
N7US Jim asked about the name badge project. KB9I Ken has found a source and mentioned the badges could be seen on (Ken please give me the URL). N7US suggested the club buy the badges. A proposal was made that we wait until we had a solid price before making that decision.
W9MU discussed possible program choices for upcoming meetings. One candidate was perhaps multiple programs on current radios and there features both electrical and physical and the meaning of some of the current specifications. This lead to a discussion on interference and the interference problems experienced by the KB9I repeater. K9DCI Steve and KB9I Ken described their search for the source of the interference. This lead to a lively discussion on interference and it was pointed out a future program or two on interference seemed advisable.
The meeting was adjourned and all present participated in the mini Hamfest.
Respectfully submitted by W9MLP for K9KMD
