Regular Meeting minutes – February 2, 2010
Due to the primary election the usual meeting place was not available. The meeting was held at Woodstock Free Methodist Church. The meeting began at 19:35 with KA9OZP the Vice President presiding. KB9I the President arrived later and took over the meeting. KA9OZP asked for visitors and guests to proceed with self-introductions. A meeting attendance report showed 15 members and 4 visitors in attendance. The required 12 members established a quorum.
The sad news that W9NB had become a silent key was discussed. N9REP made a motion seconded by W9HOG that the clubs spend $50 on a floral arrangement or a memorial in Jim’s name. Motion Carried. A minute of silence was observed in respect of Jim W9NB. A discussion of Jim’s many accomplishments ensued.
Because the secretary was not in attendance no one knew the status of the last meeting notes. W9MLP made a motion seconded by W9MU to accept the notes if published.
W9MLP gave a treasurer report as published in the newsletter.

W9MLP made a motion seconded by W9MU to donate $25 to the Free Methodist Church in appreciation for the use of the Church for our meeting. Motion carried.
Repeater Report
Ken KB9I explained the hum problem. More work is required to correct the problem.
DX Report
40 and 80 noisy but some action there. 160-meter contest N7US worked 350 QSO with inverted V. There is DX during the day. 15 and 6 meters have been open lately.
N9IFG is looking for help with preparing boy scouts to get their radio badge.
KB9I discussed the club providing a scanner for a local space camp to listen to space station traffic. W9MLP suggested KB9I look into the situation further.
W9MU asked for interested party’s to help civil war re-enactors with communications. KB9GIN agreed to help W9MU look into the situation.
W9MU presented an interesting program about historical individuals including mathematicians and inventors who contributed to the science of radio.
Meeting adjourned at 2120.
